Woodworker

Woodworker tells the story of how our avocations become us and we become them.  In this case, it's the artist's passion for woodworking.  Built on a welded steel cage that freely rotates between two bases, the image of the woodworker is displayed in 6 panels, each one replacing more skin tone with wood grain until the woodworker is made of wood.

Made from solid oak, oak face plywood, purpleheart, photographs and glass, the handles invite the viewer to turn the drum and the smooth action of the industrial bearing allow playful observation of the sculpture.  It is intended to engage the viewer, physically, mentally and emotionally.
